Rhiwbina RFC coaching structure

Message from Head Coach Dai Patterson

We have been working on confirming the coaching/management structure for the forthcoming season and are in position to confirm the following:  

Dai Pattison- Head Coach, responsible for:

    -  promoting the values of RRFC throughout the coaching structure

    - developing CPD/ upskilling opportunities for our club coaches

    -  season planning for senior training/ matches

    -  lead coach for forwards/ defensive structures

    - session planning/ delivery for senior group

 

Jon Bryant- Assistant Coach, responsible for:

    -  developing attack structure for senior team

    -  deliver sessions/ CPD for junior RRFC teams 

    -  session planning/delivery for senior group 

 

Alun Harries-  S&C and coach development, responsible for:

    -  continue to work with our junior section to promote strategy of integration and challenge of both players and coaches 

    -  provide support for junior coaches for personal development, planning 

    -  outline structure for S&C training to coincide with delivery of rugby sessions

    -  provide individual player support on S&C programmes (where required) 

    -  delivery/ coordination of CPD 

    -  session planning/ delivery for senior group

 

Dan Murphy- 1st XV Team Manager 

    -  Registration and transfer of players 

    -  Communicate key information with playing group

    -  Provide player/ club feedback to coaching team 

    -  Liaise with fixture secretary to arrange/ agree games 

    -  Coordinate training/ match day admin 

    -  Liaise with other senior group TM's re: player availability 

 

Richard Thomas-  2nd XV Head Coach- forwards/ breakdown specialist, responsible for:

    - leadership of 2nd XV 

    - develop structure of breakdown technique for both attack and defence

    - support in delivery of set piece for forwards

    - session planning/delivery for senior group

 

Gerwyn Neale- 2nd XV Assistant Coach

    -  coordination of attack/ backs structure for 2nd XV 

    -  support senior coaches to deliver sessions for senior group 

 

Ian Sinclair- 2nd XV Team Manager 

    -  support 1st XV TM 

    -  coordinate structure of communication with players (in conjunction with coaches)

    -  engage with Youth XV to migrate players into senior registration (once reached 18)- communicate such with coaching group

    -  coordinate training/ matchday admin 

 

Rob Morgan- Youth Team Head Coach

    -  develop coaching team for youth section 

    -  engage with both senior and U.16 teams to encourage player migration through joint sessions, guest coach sessions 

    - develop playing philosophy for youth team 

    -  Planning/ delivery of season/ sessions for youth team 

    -  delivery of sessions in collaboration with senior group

 

Larry Spittle- Youth Team Manager, responsible for:

    -  registration of players for youth group 

    - liaison with U.16's / senior group for player migration 

    - communication with players 

    -  coordinate training/ matchday admin 

 

Whilst the above is by no means an exhaustive list of responsibilities, it hopefully provides an outline understanding of structure.  It will be our aim to motivate and engage players and other RRFC coaches to develop the quality of our delivery, promote core values of the club and to produce results in player retention, player migration and match day results (whenever that might be!!).
