Young Squirrels do the double over Rumney

Rhiwbina U'14s put on a fine display as they racked up 9 tries to secure a big win against Rumney.

James Steele set the ball rolling as he pounced from close range after the Rumney defence was worn down by pounding forward work. Ryan Clarke was next to profit after a good break by Iestyn up the middle. Morgan Appleyard added a third try from a 5 yard line out. Iestyn was next as he latched onto a fine pop pass by George. The fifth try was scored by Will Clarke. Ryan and Morgan each added a second try to their tallies to make the half time score 45-0.

Unfortunately for the visitors there was no let-up in the second half. Jack Trotman scored through good support play before George Sheppard got the final try after the backs once again showed good handling skills. 

A convincing win and the double achieved over plucky opponents.

The morning was marred by an injury to Ben Greenwood and we all wish him a speedy recovery.
