Youth bow out in National Cup to visitors Mold RFC

Rhiwbina RFC Youth 22   Mold RFC Youth  35

The young Squirrels were beaten by a strong Mold side in the National Youth Cup, but for those spectators that came along after other cancellations, they were treated to an excellent game with some great skills on view.  Star of the show was Mold centre Alex Foster, andit  was his try hat-trick that made the difference between the two teams. Rhiwbina No8 Elliot Fowler crowned an impressive display with a solo try from 30 metres and Toby Williams at full back was sound under the high ball and looked to run the ball from attacking positions. Jamie Savoury scored Rhiwbina's other first half try, but Mold crossed for three converted tries making the half time score 12-21 in favour of the North Walians. Rhiwbina also lost three players to injury in the first half, but replacements Charlie White and Olly Sykes both scored second half tries. However Mold held on for a deserved victory and we wish them well in the next round.
