St Peters 10 v 12 Rhiwbina
Another lovely winters morning saw the visiting U13 Squirrels somehow manage to win a really tight encounter against a very determined and committed St Peters team who kept to their somewhat narrow game plan with great determination. The visiting Squirrels soon found themselves 10 points down as the home team started the game in full flow using the crash ball well as their forwards dominated proceedings while the visitors looked somewhat shell shocked.
However, the team is made of sterner stuff and slowly got themselves back into the game with an unconverted try before they had to withstand a period of intense pressure from the home team throughout the majority of the second half. When their chance came, they took it with aplomb scoring out wide with virtually the last action of the match and it was all down to Finn to win the game with the conversion from wide out. For a moment it looked as if the conversion might drift wide but thankfully for the visitors it struck the post and went over so giving the narrowest of wins to the Squirrels.
All in all a great team performance with everyone working hard and it just shows what can be achieved by sticking at the task.
