After being put through a gruelling 80minutes watching Wales 'get the job done', the Squirrels were bouncing as the met Canton on Sunday! Right off the bat, Seb sliced through their defensive wall and to touchdown for our first try. Aiden stepped up to the challenge to slot the conversion home! Evan Shearer link play and offloading was a joy to watch, and his body angles in getting set for a tackle were awesome! After a Canton try, Chester converted his own try to put the home side ahead. The 2-1 margin was maintained to half time through some solid defensive work that wouldn’t have looked out of place in Japan from Jack
In the second quarter the Squirrels and Canton traded tries, but it would have been advantage Canton had it not been some text book tackling & rucking from Ben, Jake Evan and Josh! Andre used his speed strength and agility to put the squirrels noses in front (5-3).
The third quarter saw a Chester unselfishly set up Logan to dive over the line - what great team play! The Squirrels were steaming now. Seb made some darting runs to touchdown. And Callum sprinted down the touchline, side-stepping his way out of difficulty to touchdown in the corner!! Jack stepped up and converted - 6 vs 4 to the Squirrels.
The squirrels saw out the final quarter to take the spoils, and a final mention has to go out to Jacob who really showed some great passing skills. Well done boys - a great way to finish a morning of Rugby!
