Rhiwbina U13's     14 v 12      Rumney U13's

After all the bad weather lately, it was a great effort from Rumney (via sponsors Glasshouse Ltd) to make the arrangements for the Blues Cup Quarter Final to be played at Cardiff Arms Park.

As all expected, the game was a very tight affair with the Squirrels just coming out on top.  In the friendly game earlier this season Rumney triumphed with their narrow game baffling the Squirrels but a strong display of tackling paid dividends to turn things around on this occasion.

An early converted Squirrels try as a result of good handling was the only score till just before half time when some poor decision making allowed Rumney to capitalise and score but unconverted.  With the forwards being forceful at the scrum it was no surprise when the Squirrels scored again and had other chances to extend their lead but didn't make them count.  Rumney rallied and the last minutes were tense as they scored another try, but the Squirrels held on to record their first victory over Rumney at this age group for some years.

All the players (from both teams) contributed to a cracking game but the size of the Squirrels squad allowing them to make multiple substitutions proved probably the decisive factor.
