Rhiwbina U12's 40 v 12 Pontypridd U12's
On such a lovely sunny morning it was good to be in the fresh air as Pontypridd made the short journey down the A470 to contest this Quarter Final Blues Plate match under the whistle of Brian Paterson who again kept order impeccably - a fact that was appreciated by players and fans alike.
Rhiwbina couldn't have wished for a better start to the game as thee quick tries put them in the ascendancy as powerful running from forwards and backs tore large holes in the visitors defence to give the home team the best possible start. Full marks have to go to the visitors as they dug deep and rallied well scoring twice themselves to ensure that all concerned know they were in a hard fought contest. An early score straight from the restart for the home team could have been the end of the visitors but they continued to try and play rugby with some free flowing handling in the backs and restricted the home team to just another score.
Overall a good home performance with the forwards especially prominent and debutant Will Rudolph showing up well.
