Squirrels Ruck n Roll Rugby

Llanharan visited Rhiwbina Squirrels U10s at Caedelyn in a bruising encounter! Aiden Venables crossed the try line with an early burst of speed. Evan Randig made several darting runs – in some impressive textbook rugby moves by him. Seb superbly supported Logan for a second – and Squirrels were on a roll. Jack Mills escaped down the touchline, leaving 3 of the Llanharan players in his wake displaying what a turn of speed he has. Llanharan got a try back before Nathan teamed up with Jack before setting Logan off for the line and another try! Llanharan were no push over and scored again at the death,

Before the second game kicked off, The Squirrels and Llanharan linked arms to observe a minutes silence at 11:00. All players were impeccably respectful, a credit to both clubs

In Match 2, Rhiwbina started slowly allowing Llanharan to get 2 quick tries. But Joel snapped the Squirrels into life with his first try of the day. Nathan added a second try and there were some stunning defensive try saving tackles put in. by the squirrels to keep the scores equal. The Squirrels handling has improved massively, with some great interplay from Lewis to Nathan to Sonny who touchdown to put the Squirrels ahead. Josh Lynch set up some massive rucking opportunities - a great platform to build off. More brick-wall defending from Ben and Isaac & the squirrels producing turnover ball from some more great rucking play! Joel and Sonny both scored again.

In the final match Andrew traded tries with Llanharan. Arun and Jacob were punching holes in the defensive line, creating the gaps which Jake Neal exploited to get the Squirrels second. Will turned his afterburners on to score a great individual skilled try! Llanharan made a quick couple of scores but Arun brought the score-line back to 1 try difference with minutes to go! Callum was bossing the midfield, a constant handful for the Llanharan players. Right on the final whistle Jacob side-stepped his way through Llanharan defence to score a marvellous try. What. A. TRY! What a great morning of rugby!
