Thge 2nds travelled West to their furthest Conference league game at Ammanford on Saturday, and came away with a tremendous victory. It was a good hard fought game in windy and rainy conditions, but the pitch held out well. Rhiwbina had a good amount of possession but found it hard to break down a dogged Ammanford defence. However with a 10 - 3 lead at half time Rhiwbina managed to maintain a good defence and some good handling in the conditions across all 15 and powered over for three more tries in the second half to one try in response from Ammanford. The moment of the game was a deft grubber kick from prop Max Wilson which crossed the try line to be touched down.
It's a big day of rugby at Caedelyn next week as the 2nds take on Risca and the !st XV are at home to Llanelli Wanderers in Round 3 of the National Plate competition. Unlike some clubs, we'll be pulling out all the stops and forks to make sure both games can go ahead.
