Smithy is a true one-club man, having played at all levels for Rhiwbina.
He started with the Under 6s (stone that is!) and has been a member of the First XV since anyone of us can remember, and has been Captain for the past 3 seasons.
He’s 27 years old and weighs 120kg (that’s nearly 19 stone for old people). He’s a Rhiwbina boy through and through and there is talk of erecting a statue to him on the village crossroads, but the planning application has been turned down as it would require road widening.
He likes lots of different kinds of music, as long as it’s his choice in the dressing room.
His favourite film and TV programme kind of sums him up: Power and Men of Honour. We all know he plays prop, but Smithy still reckons he’d make a good centre in the Bastareaud mould.
His favourite Rhiwbina rugby memory was reaching the Swalec Plate Final, winning promotion and the Cardiff District Cup all in the same year.
