Player Spotlight: Josh Trewartha “Gog”

It’s true that all good rugby teams need a Gog, to bring an element of sophistication and flair.
So how come we’ve got Josh Trewartha?
All jokes aside, this particular Gog has been with us for four seasons and has become very much part of Rhiwbina RFC.

Josh comes from Llangefni in Anglesey – for those of you with poor Geography, that’s an island off the coast of North Wales.

He’s 26 years old and on a good day weighs 17.5 stone – a very good day!

Whether he starts or comes on as a replacement, he always has an impact on the game and is a regular try scorer.

Before coming to South Wales Josh played for his home town club Llangefni, who play in National Division One North.

Apart from some great experiences with Rhiwbina, Josh’s proudest rugby moment was representing Welsh Colleges in a regional tournament.

Josh missed most of last season with a bad injury but has come back fit and strong this season.

His favourite hobby is making homemade craft beer – and drinking it!
That must account for those after-burner moments, when he’s up in support to score a try.
