Under 7s go nuts after forced hibernation

Young Squirrels come out of hibernation and go nuts

A sunny morning of rugby was enjoyed by over fifty whipper snapper U7s at the Principality Stadium (aka Rhiwbina School Field).

The young Squirrels hosted Llandaff and Old Illtydians in a fast paced round robin, lasting around 80 minutes.

Due to the recent inclement weather, the Squirrels had around 4 weeks without a game and at the start it showed. They were full of energy and well overdue a run around. With Referee Steve attempting to keep up, the Squirrels played Llandaff and an entertaining game had some great tries and tags for both teams. On the next pitch, another group of Squirrels were up against Illts, with tags galore and some lovely team moves, the young Squirrels showing great progress against a rapid Illts team.

With a third game running at the same time, the kids were all having a great time and were thoroughly shattered by the end!

So it was back to the clubhouse for Mark’s gourmet sausage and chips. After stuffing their faces, the carnivore Squirrels were heading home to drive their parents nuts for the rest of Sunday!

Until next week...
