Fine Win for the U12's

After all the festivities and training as the weather seemed to affect the games in December it was great to get back on the pitch with U12's entertaining our visitors from St Peters. The Squirrels went out of the blocks like Linford Christie scoring tries at will with some fine running in the first quarter of an hour and it looked as if it was going to be a long morning for the visitors but they managed to stem the tide with great commitment. It was still a healthy lead at the interval which gave the chance for everyone to enjoy playing time which is in keeping with the club ethos. St Peters were always going to struggle with just one sub and the home side added to their score at regular intervals although the visitors never gave up and finally breached the home line in the last minute to score a consolation try to round off their efforts.

Finally a word for Ian who as always took the whistle and if there was no ref there wouldn't be a game.

 

A great start to the New Year and onwards to Barry next week - all remember your thermals!
