Another Dazzling Match Report!

On a very damp afternoon, Llandaff RFC played host to Rhiwbina Youths third fixture of the season. 
Turning up with a very depleted squad, Rhiwbina had to rely on their hosts to help with numbers to play under “game on” rules. 
The game itself was played with ambition and a fair amount of skill considering the conditions. In the end, for the Rhiwbina players, it was very much a case of what might have been had they been at full strength.

Llandaff took the lead with a converted try. However, after some strong running from debutant back-rower Dylan Morgan and number 8 Nathan Crothers, the Squirrels created good field position. 
Centre Geraint Porter continued his impressive try scoring start to the season by latching on to a kick through. With great control he beat the covering opposition to touch down in the corner.

The second half saw Llandaff play to their strengths and come away with the W by 17-08.
The Man of the Match award went to James Sinclair, playing at full back, and performing his one-handed pickups and strong running out of defense.

On Sunday and under blue skies Rhiwbina entered a team into the U17 Game-On Festival held at the House of Pain!!!(Sardis Rd, Pontypridd). 
Consisting of mainly U16’s. Rhiwbina gave a good account of themselves, beating Clwb Rygbi comfortably before narrowly giving way to a strong Llantwit Fardre team.

Not only was Sunday’s weather bright but the future appears bright too!!! The U16’s are indeed a fab bunch and showed an extremely high level of determination, teamwork and skills.
